Hanhart has been one of the leading producers of electronic stopwatches worldwide since 1976. Initially these had LED-displays (light diodes), but since 1982 LCD technology has been used. This kind of display brings significant advantages in terms of information content and energy consumption, and so increases running times. Since 1989, Hanhart has been using “chip on-board” technology, due to the smaller, more ergonomic case designs alongside a simultaneous increase in functionality. This has led to significant improvements in quality. As with all Hanhart products, our mechanical stopwatches are also guaranteed for 24 months.

Selection Criteria

When choosing a stopwatch, the following criteria should be considered in order to select the most suitable watch for your needs:

Operation

Start, stop, split and lap are the most important operations for electronic stopwatches. These can be executed by 1 or 2 keys depending on the model.

- Single-button operation: all operations are performed using a single button. No accidental mistakes!

- 2-button operation: start/stop and split or lap are operated using separate buttons.

Temperature Range

All Hanhart electronic stopwatches work in a temperature range of approx. -15°C to +55°C. Only the models "Labor 2" and "Labor 3" run at ambient temperatures of +5° C to +40°C and storage temperatures of -20°C to +70°C.

Display

In stopwatches with more limited functionality, single-line displays are generally used. In stopwatches with multiple functions, multi-line displays are predominantly used.

- Single line display: large numerals and symbols, clear display.

- Multi-line display: where there is a wide range of functions, more information is shown on the display.

Water protection

The watches designated as having "water protection" have additional rubber seals and are therefore impervious to spray or splashing water. The watches designated as "water-resistant" have been tested by Hanhart at a pressure of 2 bars. They remain undamaged for long periods underwater in depths of up to 10 metres. In order to keep the watches water-resistant over many years, they should be serviced by a specialist every two years.
